Good news! The Recreation Center Competition Pool season has been extended three months, essentially expanding the pool season to a full year. . .thanks to the addition of new solar panels, the support of Rec Center pass-holders and a generous donation made by “Wicked West Pizza.”
The extended season allows current programs to continue, as well as open new programs. Demand for year-round swimming has been high, so the extension comes as good news to the community. The new solar panels were added last spring to allow the Rec Center to operate the pool at a dramatically lower cost. Expanded programs, along with the Wicked West Pizza donation, will provide revenue to cover the remaining operation costs.
The extended season means the pool will now be open during the months of November, December and January. Please check with the pool for specific programs, at (916) 617-4770.
